About Recetas Caninas

Recetas Caninas was born in a home that has always had dogs. Today we live with two, and they are the ninth generation of dogs in our family. Our love for them isn't something we discovered one day: we were born with it.

This is where we gather what we make for them: homemade recipes, a search tool to find out whether your dog can eat a particular food, homemade care, DIY toys and simple tools that make cooking for your dog easy and safe.

We try it with our dogs first

The recipes, natural shampoos, homemade toys and products we recommend have all been tried with our own dogs. Anything new we test gradually, just as we advise you to: one food at a time, in small amounts, watching how it agrees with them.

Our golden rule: THE RULE

No recipe contains anything that could harm a dog. Not as a main ingredient, not as an optional extra, not as a substitution. It's the rule that sits above all the others, and we explain how we apply it in how we create our recipes.

Every dog is different

An ingredient being safe for dogs doesn't mean it will agree with yours. Some dogs have intolerances and allergies, and some simply don't do well on a particular food. That's why we insist so much on introducing new things one at a time and watching for the signs:

• itching, scratching or paw licking;
• red ears or ear infections that keep coming back;
• vomiting, diarrhea, gas or soft stools;
• lethargy or loss of appetite.
